Scholarship Details
The Edward Aguirre Scholarship is awarded to a senior who has demonstrated outstanding participation in the Edsel Ford High School’s music program. Eddie Aguirre (or, A.K.A. “Mr. Eddie”) was a graduate of Edsel Ford’s first graduating class. Although he never had kids of his own, he was a lifetime fixture at most every kind of girls or boys Edsel Ford sporting event, as long as his health would allow. He spent his last 70 of 80 years residing in Dearborn, he was very generous with his time and loved his T-Birds! Along with sports, Eddie LOVED music and loved to dance, often entertaining family and friends at many weddings!
Scholarship Amount: $1,000 (Edsel Ford)
Application Criteria:
- 500 Word Essay, describing how the Edsel Ford music program, and music in general, have helped the student develop as a person, and give details of their dedication to music.
- Letter of reference by their high school music director that includes how long the student has participated in EFHS music program, 3 full years in the high school, minimum. That could include marching band, concert band, choir, jazz band, orchestra, etc.
- Letter of Acceptance to a Trade School or College/University during student’s senior year.
- Mandatory Attendance at the Green Tie Dinner to accept scholarship and meet benefactors.
