Rosemary Fawaz Memorial Fund

Rosemary Fawaz immigrated to this country when she was 3 yrs old. She was the oldest girl with four younger brothers. Rosemary attended Salina School K-9th grade and graduated from Fordson High School. She went on to graduate from Wayne State University with a business degree and worked for the Federal Reserve System, the central bank of the United States for 30 years.

Rosemary loved the arts, reading, politics and horses. She spent many hours advocating for women’s causes. She marched with the best of them! She was a leader with great courage who worked hard in whatever capacity it may have been to help create the possibility of a peaceful tomorrow. It was important for Rosemary to teach our young girls that they can be leaders. Be it in their own homes and communities, or even globally. This Art Scholarship aligns with Rosemary’s belief that if we nurture the necessary confidence and help build the skills for all young girls – the world is open to them.

Rosemary took a bus to work everyday – a vehicle for moving society forward and fostering social progress.
